Quite a common bird around here, but it can be a bit skittish at times. This one was braver than most and didn't worry too much about me taking it's photo.

Hi Mark, as above and lots of detail in the white feathers too. Maybe the crop feels a bit tight?

    Great image.
    regards.

Hi Mark, beautiful bird. Love the pose, feather details, and BG. The rock is also pleasing.

I wonder if it's a bit oversharpened. Agree with Stuart on the crop being too tight above and below.

    Hi Mark

I like this.. Very nice composition with good BKG and HA IMHO. Exposure seems about right to me also (hottest white~245) but I would wish for more detail in the breast feathers. Not sure how you could achieve this however, hopefully someone smarter than me can tell us.

Mark - I Like this image a lot. Good detail and sharpness and nice BG. Agree with the others that could have a little more room.

Hi Mark, nicely done! I like the pose,HA,with pretty good detail in blacks and whites. The white band might bother me but in this case it's nicely muted and doesn't distract my attention. I too might wish for a small amount more room top and bottom...

HI Mark - looks like you waited for the head turn and were rewarded.
    Lots to like here.
BG does not bother me too much - just that little bit tight.
    :)

Thanks everyone for taking the time to view and comment.

I did this crop because I wanted to put most of the focus on the bird, and not so much on the perch and bg. But after looking at the original file and recropping, I think next time I'll have more room around the bird as it didn't detract from the bird at all like I thought it would.

@Ricardo, yes it's a little oversharpened in a couple of places.

@Harold, We've got so many great birds you'ld be like a kid in a toy store! ;)
