Captured last Friday, cloudy on and off, hard to keep your exposure where you want it, as pointed out by Try, light could change in the middle of a burst. Anyway, clouds are always welcome when you are out in the brutally hot weather.

Fabs nice parent chick image. I only wish that I could view it in a larger size to see the chick a bit better. Exposure and DOF are nice and I like thr HA of hte parent.

Hi Fabs, I think you have the exposure spot on here, together with the sharpness. Good low angle, and love the inclusion of the chick.

For me I wish you had been higher up with less fore ground.

Good job on the exposure as I photographed skimmers Saturday and had the same challenges.

Like the inclusion of habitat. Pity the feet are not visible, but still a great image!

Exposure looks good. Hot summer, constant change of light, not easy.
Was the blue in the BG the ocean?

Yes, it is the lagoon behind the beach.

Thanks guys. About the feet, I much prefer a lower angle and OOF foreground to feet, I know what feet look like, don't need to see them :) (I leave that for Alfred LOL)
Of course, a matter of taste!

Well done, Fabs. Nicely controlled blacks and whites in spite of the changing lighting. I wish the chick were a bit more visible. I know you liked the low angle though, I do too.

I like the habitat, particularly the grass and good to see parent and chick together. As for the feet, I think Al and you need to discuss this sometime. :)

Like that both chick and parent are included here. I agree about the feet comment. Like the habitat and headturn of the parent a lot. Am a little undecided about the BG not being uniform in this situation. Great shot nontheless
