This was taken when the flickers were protecting their nest from the invading european starlings. The trunk makes for a busy BG but definitely shows how the flicker was truly fighting back.

Your Timing is brilliant!! The OOF BG has a bit of noise, but I like the action..

Wonderful action shot, Judy and I like the busy background - it gives context in this case. You seem to have a special rapport with y-s flickers, all your images are beautiful. And these are not easy birds to approach. I think that running NR on the BG might be worthwhile. Congrats!

Good aggressive posture captured here Judy, and I like the spread of the far wing. I remember your other images from this series.

Judy another beautiful image from the series that you and Fabs shared with us. I particularly like the flared wings and tail.

Full wing spread make this one for me Judy. Looks like you worked very hard on these guys. Great series.

Very nice shot Judy. It could use a round of NR. At ISO400, was it underexposed?

Well caught, Judy!! Detail in wings great..softness on near wing tip adds greatly to the action. You said: "The trunk makes for a busy BG". No worry at all from this viewer as it is habitat. Noise reduction on distant BG would lift this image even further.
