RTH, landing gear down
HH BIF practice op, morning light. Took several images, and this was my fav for having some light on his face and some light falling on his talons.
7D + 500 f/4.5, ISO 500, f/6.3, 1/1600, +1/3 EV
While the talons stand out, it doesn't look too nice printed. Too contrasty? Maybe too overexposed? Lighting all wrong?
So C&C would be helpful, if this image can/should be salvaged.
you got one with the landing grear, good job! A few points for improvement,
light was coming from above and most of the underside was in shadow, +1/3 EV is usually not enough to shave the shadows here, did you pull up the exposure in post or applied too much highlight shadow? The talones are blown up and overall IQ has suffered quite a bit, it would be helpful if you can post a 100% crop to see what the original capture is like.

Not the best light angle with a few areas being hot. You did manage to pull up detail in the shadows and well placed in the frame. I too would be interested to see the original capture...
Exposure sure was tough for this one !! Can always use some for the under wings but other areas are about over !! ... just softer light ! Do like the pose and hanging talons
btw there is a funny looking area on the front part of the lower wing, not sure what it is?
