Had a great morning shooting skimmers today until the same lady walked along the shallow water where the birds are and spooked them away. Of course she got an ear full from me. I know it is a public beach but there is only one spot where the birds were hanging out. She could have walked somewhere else to find shells. Some people just do not have common sense. Hope you this this shot.

Yes, there are alot of inconsiderate people out there!

Good image overall, nice pose (and timing on your part). Great view of the lenght of those wings. Good job on the exposure too. As posted I may crop off about half the room below, and I would certainly eliminate the brightest highlight next to the wing.

good timing. I share your frustration. I had a similar experience with oystercatchers last Saturday...folks see me with lens photographing it and instead of walking behind me, they walk on through the beach and scare away the bird.

Troy, Beautiful pose and the details look great. I like Daniels idea to crop a little off the bottom.

Nice pose and I'd crop from top, partial to shinny sand :)
I've been looking at your Skimmers and I have an advise for you, try to go for light in the eye, it makes all the difference. If the light hits them the right way, the eye is distinguishable from the mask.
Sorry we're going to miss you next week-end.

Well done Troy. I like Fabs' suggestion about the lighting the eye. Love that wing position!
