    I like the idea of the bird mostly hidden behind the perch but the trunk is too overpowering for my taste and might crop it like this.

    I think the stump has an interesting form, and I like the original because it requires a moment to see all the features and really focus in on the bird.

    Well spotted & captured. Beautifull trunk, but agree with Axel on it being to heavy for size of the bird. Still well done!:)

    This is excellent and intriguing. The image isn't about the stump and it isn't about the bird. It's about the
    juxtaposition of the two, with the bird merging almost as a part of the stump. I like the fact that the light is
    concentrated in the left center of the stump rather than on the bird; that lends to the "find the bird" Gestalt puzzle
    of the image. I would definitely keep the whole stump.
