Hi All, The last night in Barrow Matthew and I went out on our own. One of the roads from town had been blocked by snow the entire week but we found it just barely passable that last night. While wading into one of the tundra ponds we got caught in some really bad ice, mostly affraid to move, just in time for this Sabine's to do a fly by. I was in one shot AF mode and was probably set about 1/3 brighter than I should have been in manual exposure mode. By pumping the shutter button I was able to get one reasonably sharp frame and did so without falling into the ice water, a small miracle.

    Good Shooting!

You did a very good job considering the shooting conditions. The gull is just beautiful and I like the wing pose and fantastic eye contact. The brownish horizontal stripe in the water is a bit distracting and I suggest to rotate the image a bit using the brown stripe in the water as a guide.:)
