    Default Meadowlark

It was my first, shot from the car on a busy, two lane road, don't have a lot of room. Light angle was not the best as it created a bit of shadow around the chest area. Dodged a bit to brighten the chest area. Beemer would have eliminate the shadow.

Natural perch would be even better! Lovely as is, love those singing poses! Nice BG too. I'm not seeing a lot of feather detail. Is it just me?

Hi Troy, nice capture! Love the open beak and the creamy BG. The exposure seems fine, and I see plenty of details. The eye may need to be sharpened a bit. When I zoom in I get too much pixelation. Is this a large crop?

Hi Troy, I don't have any major issues with the image. Nice positioning and glad you minimalized the perch.
Muted backround along with the addition of an open beak.
Agree that a fill flash would have given you less of a contrast in lighting.
I think you did well considering the circumstances...

Ricardo, no it was not a large crop. My PP step includes cropping to 16x24" and then resize to 800 pixels. I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Should I crop and enlarge later for bigger size?

Hi Troy If you are planing on making a large print might consider interpolating during the RAW conversion some ! Normally I don't upsize till I need to and use bicubic smoother. Not a good idea to upsize then downsize for posting !!!

Bird could be a little brighter !! Good pose !!!

Hi Troy - like the pose, BG is good, agree a little fill flash would help.

Al, I usually crop to 16x20 size @ 300DPI. That is because that is usually what I sold at 16x20 or 11x14.

Which way is better? Cropping to 16x20 @ 240/300DPI, or upsize by using bicubic smoother?

    Thanks Al.
