Here's another view of my resident House Wren in low (and uneven) light. I'm curious to know if you think this suffers from the same problems as the earlier wren post. (Plus a steeper capture angle here.) C&C appreciated.

Didn't see the last post Bill. I might crop a bit from the top and right. Looks like the bird is molting. The sharpening looks a little off to me. Was it a large crop? I do like the open beak, and doesn't look too steep to me.

Thanks Jackie. This is about 75% of full frame. You're on to something, but I'll wait for a few more comments before I respond directly.

Hi Bill, The angle doesn't look too steep to me either. I like how you handled the light since it seems to be mixed and it's not harsh. The front third appears to be sharp and doesn't appear to be heavily over sharpened. The backround is also handled very well. Finally the open beak is a plus!

Thanks Al. I first thought this was a youngster. She (he?) is very tame, and this morning approached me almost to within arm's length (to scold me in response to my pishing). But she (he?) has been going in and out of a hanging wren house with food in her bill, so I think she has a brood in there. Possibly a second brood -- we had a wren nest in our garden tool basket in our garage earlier this spring, and they fledged while we were in the Galapagos. I'm guessing this is one of the same parents of that brood, although I have only seen one this time, whereas with the garage nest both were actively involved in the feeding.
