    captured this one on my trip to Costa Rica a few months ago, this was taken from a boat at the Caņo Negro National Wildlife Refuge, the kingfishers were plentiful and we saw 3 types within a few minutes

    canon 7d, 500L, ISO 400, F8 @ 1/160 and a very large crop its probably only 25% the original size

    Love the pose Jamie, excellent exposure and good detail and well composed. Not an easy place to photograph these beauties but you did well. ZI could not help but notice the spider web up in the right hand corner. Adds a very authentic and natural touch. Glad to see you posting Jamie :)

    Good work. I love the spiders. Was wondering why f8? Why not f4 and a blurrier bg?

    Craig I had my 1.4 TC on for parts of it and had removed it and forgotten about it so I thought it was still on there :(

    I didnt even know the web was there until I downloaded them to my pc, if I had I would have had them spin the boat around and try a different angle... so that part was just sheer luck :)
