Giant Kingfisher. I hope Im not offending anybody with this image, but thought I would bring a bit of fun for a friday - since its been a long week. Making himself lighter for the take off. Taken in the Pilanesberg nature reserve a little while back. Any captions will be appreciated.;)

No apologies needed, Stu; this is a useful image. I'm surprised by the high volume of it. Lightening his load, indeed.

    Hi Stuart,

Thanks for sharing as it did add a bit of fun and amusement to my day. If every action has an equal and opposite reaction, perhaps this bird is trying out jet propulsion?

He certainly let you know what he thinks about photographers. :) I would try to lighten the parts that are not sunlit.

Stuart, That is quite a lot of whitewash from such a small bird. Nice capture and made me smile!:)
