White Ibis in one of many "marshes of concern" at Grand Isle, Louisiana 48 hours after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon. I love the eye color of this mud-stained bird! I took this photo during late morning in bright sun but somehow it processed out in reasonable condition.

Very nice shot Danny. Exposure looks good.
Could use another round of NR.

Hi Danny, You handled the bright light pretty well. What ISO were you shooting? Somehow quite a bit of noise got into your image. I too love the eye and the setting as well.

    Good Shooting!

Not sure if its in-camera noise, or jpeg compression artefacts we are seeing...likely the latter, as we can see evidence of that around the bill and throat contours.

Good job on the techs, and a very appealing habitat depicted. I'm not sure about the water line running behind the head though, and I would attempt to tone down the highlights on the bill.

Love the pose and eye contact in this capture Danny and the inclusion of the habitat is very appealing. Great low angle and the exposure is excellent. Good comments from Daniel ! Really have been enjoying your posts Danny !!! Keep them coming.:)

Very luscious light and surroundings. I may clone out the specular highlights in the bill and blur the water close to the shore.
Glad you see you posting in Avian more often :)

Thanks everybody for your kind suggestions regarding this little trainwreck! My appetite for post processing was far below the curve on this one, but it was fun to share anyways.:)
