Well, I always like a bit of overcast when shooting loons, unless it is very early or late in the day, because their dynamic range is out of sight, with the brilliant whites, blacks, etc.
You have a very fine display of the green sheen here, which only shows well in soft light.
The composition is a bit tricky because of all the overlaps. If the middle bird wasn't there, I think it would work better.
I can see the seam where the extra canvas was added.
Seeing these gets me fired up to get out and shoot some more!
Wonderful species and One I would love to see one day with their babies. Excellent detail and eye contact Raymond and love the water dripping from it's beak. So sorry we could not make breakfast !!! Next time !
I like the scene as presented...I see this often at the family cottage, especially when they congregate together for their early morning feedings - too bad for me its usually with binoculars and no time to head out onto the lake! I really gotta take a day off just for that!:)
Although the overcast light no doubt caused this, I find the image a wee bit too "blue", and I agree with Randy about the seam at right, but all else looks super!
thanks for the comments... I just caught a nice virus.. bells palsy, so one eyed processing stinks!! I will correct this when I can see again in a couple of weeks.
