Joel, I think the separation of the birds is too great, your eye move from bird to bird. Also the first thing I noticed in the thumbnail when I say the post was the branch on the LHS. I find it very distracting. As this is nearly full frame I would try a crop with just the RHS bird. It may not be great as the tail is quite OOF but you could sharpen that up. IMHO that would be a more pleasing image.

Nice setup. The top of the bird's head on the right seems a little hot to me. I agree that it would be stronger if they were closer together on the branch and there was either more eye contact between them, or us. Keep at it. You've got a great setup here and will get a great image with more attempts. Oh, I also agree that the branch on the left distracts.

Hi Joel - agree with the above points - Bird on the right feels a tad tight on the bottom for my personal tastes.
A little NR on the BG - bird on the left needs a little eye work - looks like a little bit of red eye from the flash possibly.

I prefer to work with manual settings when I am using flash - find it easier to control the amount of flash.
Like the setup - keep em coming :)

Hi Joel Good tech settings ! Would like seeing a tighter overall image .. the left bird more to the right would have eliminated the perch on the left? Excellent green bg and a good feel to this image !!!

Hi Joel I like the even light and the muted backround. Agree that the comp would be stronger with the birds closer together and more room on the bottom.
