The exposure looks good and the side-light brought out some nice detail in the feathers. The wing position is awkward with one wing out horizontal and the other in a partial down position - due to looking up perspective. From this elevation, I generally like to get them banking or coming over me for a "T" like configuration.
The keep them coming as practice makes perfect. Remember, if the bird sails over your head and you are looking up at it, the bird is now back lighted and you can add light to the exposure - at least 1 stop.
