Elk Refuge at Jackon Wy Lots of animals during the winter and a must see if you are in the area. Tours run all day and normally on sleds, this Dec they had very little snow so on to wheels !!

Refuge was created since the migration path was cut off by the city, so they get fed !!! :)

Comments welcome and much appreciated !!

That looks great, Al. I've learned so much about YNP and the surrounding area from you and Fabs this past year. Winter at YNP is definitely on our short list. I think we are going with the North Rim of Grand Canyon next summer. I wouldn't be surprised if you and Fabs don't have some info on that location as well.

    Al:

I'm not certain why people in a wagon are shown in the middle of what purports to be an image of an elk refuge. Are they members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the USA?:)

Norm, I believe part of the fees go towards the purchase of food for them.

... also the money to feed them comes from collecting the antlers at the end of the season then sold by the pound. We were told some numbers and they were staggering price wise !!
