    Default Female Wood Duck

I captured this one last fall. I extended the canvas behind a little bit and cropped about the same amount in front. Let me know what you think.

Very nice p/p work and gorgeous water. EXP seems to be on the money and head angle is good. Not sure if it needs a bit of CW rotation. Sweet, thanks for sharing it, Rodney.

    Composotion - Beautiful and simple
Detail - very sharp, lots of crisp detail
Shooting Angle - low perspective makes for a lovely intimate portrait
Exposure - in field exposure looks slot on. I could see brightening the mid-tones just a little in post processing.

Lovely colours through out the image, and the duck is nice and sharp. Comp wise, I would take about a third off the bottom, and about half on top.

Ditto all the positives above. I would try about 1/2 degree of CCW rotation as lining up the reflections top and bottom is not always accurate.... If it fits with your personal ethics you could lose the bit of scraggly grass below the bird's chin and clean up the white reflections in front of the bird for a cleaner look.

Rodney, Great water colors and inquisitive expression here!
Agree that a bit of CCW rotation is needed.
Very nice detail and a sharp eye.

In addition to all that was said above, I like the pose. Do you have any shots when it was swimming through the red reflection?

Yes this was created at chagrin.
I will try a little ccw rotation on it when I get a chance.

I had some, but they were not sharp enough or I did not like the angle.
