Harsh light was not working on your favor here, bur nice landing pose, fanned tailed and head angle. Wish the wings were a bit more open. I like that you included the rock as a landing reference point. Neat BG color.

Gerrie, loved the inclusion of the perch. What a bird. slight reduction of contrast might help. Some parts look tad too bright due to the harsh light. The small grey patch on the right border looks a little odd.

The next frame with outstretched talons must be a killer one.

You did well dealing with the harsh light here. I would reduce the brightness all around, except for the shadows, where you've maintained good detail.

Overall image, it is still a good shot even though the light angle was not idea. That is just part of the nature sometimes.

Composition: rule of thirds works plus I like seeing what he is about to land on in the lower left corner
    Exposure: good
Sharpening: I see a few sharpen halos around the wings and tail
Pose: The pose is very nice - I like the wing position plus eye contact.

Nice posture Gerrie, I know about the light, if only they would come in earlier;) Still a great shot IMO, I would tone down the highlights a bit.
