Default Scissor tailed flycatcher in habitat

40D. 400f5.6L wide-open. iso 640. 1/1250s. exp. comp. +1 1/3. had set up the camera for flight shot that I did not get :-( cropped from horizontal....hence the not-so-good IQ.

    All C&C welcome.

Kaustubh, I really like the composition with the large perch that gives plenty of room for the very long tail on this bird. Colors and BG very nice, though the bird's head and body has some slight edgy look to it. Very nice image to look at.

KD, I think the composition would benefit from cropping some off the right side, enough to leave room for the plant to breathe. I don't think the IQ is suffering from the crop, rather the focus is more on the perch than the bird. Maybe a little NR on the BG. TFS.

Hi Kaustubh, I like these over the shoulder poses, and good comp with him perched high in the frame. I agree wth Fabs regarding the space on the right. Love the BG colours too.

Lovely BG colours...I think there is too much perch and too little bird. Good on you trying something different

I'd prefer a tighter crop, if possible. This would still show plenty of the nice plant he's perched on.
    Nice colors, head-turn, and BG.
