Can anyone tell me how to determine the number of actuations, i.e. shutter closings, on a Nikon D300 or D700?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

James, some cameras support shutter count, others don't. I'm not sure about your models. Maybe someone using Nikon can pitch in. If it is supported, you can check it in PS in the File Info > Advanced tab somewhere.
James, Go to the Opanda site, http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html, and download the iexif 2.3 freeware. take a jpeg image ( a converted RAW image won't work) and open it in the Opanda software. The total actuations will be the 8th entry from the last.
