It was an overcast morning when I captured this, on a lousy January morning this year. I liked the 'pouncing' flying posture here, and captured against grasslands.

    What a bird!
Nicely pressed in the frame and BG not distracting, especially where the bird is. Since that tail so so beautiful, I'd have love to see it sharp too.
Do you have more of this bird???? I'm in love!!

I just love this bird Stuart! You've captured a great leaping pose here. I might give the bird a little more room on the right side of the frame, and I'd consider cloning out the dark spot in the LLC.

Neat pose, it would be great to see the bird larger in the frame but just out of curiosity. :) I might try to get more details in the blacks on the head.

    Hi Stuart,

My observation are ready covered above. So I'll just say that I think this is lovely. The bird is fantastic with a very appealing pose. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Stuart,
Great looking bird on a nicely colored BG. Very cool pose and I like the angle of the tail feathers and head.

These are wonderful birds and I've never managed to capture them well so am envious here. Love the unusual pose (for a bird) and that sweeping tail is gorgeous. Love the background and am looking forward to seeing more of your images of this species.
