    Default Two Avocets

2 Avocets chasing, last light. These guys defend their nesting grounds ferociously to protect their chicks against gulls, crows, egrets and harriers, sometimes they fight each other two! BTW, still like the good old 5D AF better than MK4 for holing focus on BIF against busy BG, if you get it right refuses to miss, very predictable and nice!

Chose a wide crop to show the environment, Avocets ended up a bit small but still show details :D

5D2 500 f/4, 1/2000 sec f/4 ISO 3200. used f/4 to separate from BG. Hope you like it

Like it as presented Arash and its refreshing seeing the larger picture !! Find them more difficult to do than isolating one bird !!

Agree on the focus, that camera performs but has a poor reputation :) .. sure wish it had a faster frame rate !!!

Hi Arash, I also like it as presented The muted colors in the backround are pleasing and yet enough of the environment shown to give a sense of place. Nothing in the backround to take away from the birds. Good wing position on both subjects with soft light...

Really sweet image, Arash. Nice and sharp, well exposed. Love the matching poses, and really lovely environment.

Arash - Beautiful image. Like the muted bg including the water. Well done.
