That's a juvie!!! NIce as presented, good EXp and detail. YOu gonna think I'm crazy, but I'd love a bit of green to brake the color monotony. TFS.

Troy, good feather detail, and I like the smooth complimentary BG. If anything, I would maybe tone down the overall image just a tad.

Nice pose and comp. I think it could use just a touch on contrast.

Troy, hope you dont mind, here is what I had in mind. All I did was tone down the midtones - seems to bring out the red a little better.

    Not at all.

Troy, in photoshop, go to image - adjustments - levels - ( move the middle slider to the right to suit. I moved it to .85 ) Hope that helps.

    Hi Troy,

I like the composition with the bird coming out of the corner. Nice and sharp with enough of a head turn to make it work for me. I think Stuart's adjustment helped. Thanks for sharing.

You have some very nice detail here Troy. I like the touched up version visually but don't know enough about the species to know which is more true to what you saw with your eye. That "steely" eye is very dominating and really makes the image for me.

    Stuart, thank you.
The early sun will definitely make them look a bit more warm, reddish.
As for accuracy, I am not 100% sure, I just started learning about this bird this year.
