    Default Skimmer at First Light

I made this on Long Island around 5:30 AM and was surprised that the Skimmer is reasonably sharp despite the low shutter speed.

Axel I like it even with the slightest of blur, because of that fact it is an action shot. Lovely light and surrounds, with that nice sparkle in the eye.

Nice action and timing, Axel. I think you did very well considering the shutter speed. I do like the warmth and the low angle! Does it need some slight CW rotation?

Thanks, Colin! There was a slight slope because it was close to the beach.

Sweet light, which in turn has brought out those lovely warm colours. Well timed, and I like how the skimmer is separated from the breaking surf in the BG.

    Hi Axel,

I think this is very very nice! The light makes this one special for me. The resulting colors are beautiful. I also find the composition to be very pleasing. I also like the pose/action and the wave in the background. I find the image to be sharp and well exposed. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Love the warm light and pose and pretty good sharpness for the shutter speed.

Axel, The water color looks amazing and the pose is nice. I might selectively sharpen the head more if it were mine.

Beautiful warm light, and pastel colors. Agree on trying to sharpen the head a bit if you can. I'd like to be able to shoot this clean at ISO 1600, or even 800 for that matter.
