This image also taken at same cliffs as the Puffin in Iceland, they were always moving..going from the nest to the cliff tops collecting mud and grass for their nests..only one adult leaving their nesting spot at a time, to protect their spot from being stolen.
They were a little harder to get close to so had to use my 300mm.
I used a low f/ high shutter to freeze the bird and blur the background.
I really like the head angle on this one...I tried removing all the bird droppings but just left it in.
Thanks for looking

I really like the pose, soft light and BG in this one. The whitewash is not so attractive and I would rather lighten the iris than adding a catchlight and run NR on the BG. Maybe a bit more room at the top?
Hi Paul,
I like the pose of the bird and I think the composition works with the bird looking back into the frame. I also the rock.
Some of the whites are appear a bit bright (below the birds eye just below the head). I would try and tone down the whites with a linear burn layer and or nondestructive dodge and burn layer.
I am torn between thinking:
1)the dark upper corners provide balance to each other and the white of the bird
or
2)if the resonation would be enhanced with the background being of a more even color/tone. If it is within your ethics you might try lighting the dark corners to see how that effects the presentation as a comparison.
