    Default Wet Cardinal

    Here is my version of After the bath.



    Perch is huge, I know. Work in progress.

    Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
    Aperture: f/8.0
    Focal Length: 700 mm
    ISO Speed: 500
    Exposure Bias: +1/3 EV
    Flash: No Flash

    The bird looks sharp but the colors look strangely muddy. I like the colors of the BKGR but it looks noisy. The light angle is less than ideal but the bird is well angled to the light. You are right about the perch and in addition, the lichens are both too bright (if not over-exposed) and are a big distraction.

    Can add I would take a tiny bit from the rear of the bird to clearly have the extra room up front !! ... muddy appearance could be the bird is wet? or at least contribute !!

    I think that it is a female. But I am not too good at aging this species....
