    D3 200f2 + TC17EII (340mm) f/8 1/500 ISO800 +1.3EV Matrix 22% linear crop, light pp just minor tonal adj + sharpening

    I was shooting some distant Canada Geese and this little one hopped over to see what I was doing.

    Some help on identity would be appreciated.

    I think that is a house wren. Someone will need to verify that for me though. I really like how sharp your image is.

    I believe is is a house wren as well, and they are usually busy foraging and don't notice a photographer that can get quite close! Great detail, but needs more contrast, and a slight bit more head turn toward you would have been nice. This is the kind of soft light I really like shooting under! Although F8 seems reasonable, the fact is that when a subject is close, as appears here, F8 still didn't provide sufficient DOF to get the entire bird in focus. Good work, regards~Bill

    Hi Michael, Alot to like with the image. Good detail, and great backround. I do agree it needs a contrast boost since the image is appearing a bit flat...
