took this shot this morning,on the river calder,I was layed on the rivers damp gravel, the light was a bit brighter than I wanted it to be,and also I had not time to lower the iso,as these birds seem to be on the move quite a bit,and to catch it still with both feet showing,I had to be quick.cannon 50d,400mm prime lens,1/8000sec,ec 1-1/3,iso 800,f5/6.comments good or bad.thanks.
Christopher, The side lighting is not my favorite. Sometimes there is just not enough time to change your settings-been there done that!:) Nice sharp details and I love the pose.
I agree with Denise about the side lighting, it might have worked had the background been more even. The bird's eye is very interesting and subject is nice and sharp.
Christopher, I like the placement and the OOF foreground and background, setting off the subject with sharp focused bird and rocks in the middle-ground. Like the head angle, too. One of my favorite birds.
