LR3 file output size does not work?

anyone else having this problem? I setup 2 export presets for BPN Horiz and BPN Vert to limit the dimensions and the output size to 200k, however the size does not work I tried a few files and one was 263k, another 220, 209 etc I lowered it down to 170 and its still over 200k

If I use mogrify it works perfectly fine so I am guessing there is some bug in the LR3, I have the latest update btw

ok as I was posting I decided to look on adobe's forums and found this http://forums.adobe.com/thread/657435?tstart=0 so I am obviously not the only one with it :( I think the post is correct that it worked fine in the beta

guess it will be fixed in the next update

Jamie I had not noticed since I resize in PS Normally do the last tweaks there so I made a saving action which includes the copyright !

I'm sure they bug will be fixed with the next update, thanks for the heads up !!!

In Photoshop, if you save a jpeg with Save as it will overshoot it's own prediction of file size. Save for Web and Devices does not overshoot very often, but even it will occasionally. Just to say that this problem seems to be endemic to Adobe products.

This is why I have my file size constraint set to 195k. Seems to work out ok.

Exactly Kerry. This seems to be the "fix", altough I have been fooled a few times by files the should be 195kb and end up being just a little too big for BPN.

The LR3 file size limit doesn't work. I have stopped using it. Rather I have gone back to indicating the quality percentage. I guess, it might be because of the copyright notice that is included. Perhaps lightroom is unable to take into account the increase in file size due to the copyright notice.

it was working in the beta from what I recall so I am sure it will be fixed in the next release, until then I am just using mogrify again
