This Least Tern keeps returning to the nest looking for young to feed. Eggs should hatch soon , then it will be very busy.

I like the angle, walking pose and the fish adds to it. I would try to get more details in the blacks and tone down the whites on the chest.

Good headon approach, and I like the raised foot. His catch a bonus, and I would try and lighten the eyes if possible.

    Joe:

I really like the lines in this image, the triangle of white on forehead, slope of shoulders, dangle of fish, all come together for me. Small but effective catchlights.

Agree with Dumay about noise reduction, esp. in the shadows of BG.

I might consider cutting a bit off the top.

    Works well for me!

These males never give up :)

Like the crop and the raised foot.

Agree with Axel on the blacks needing to be opened and the whites toned down.

I'd be tempted to remove some little bits in the front, including the dried blade of dune grass on the right.

This has an almost comical feel to it:). I like it, and with some of the suggestions offered you should have a nicely polished imaged.

I really like the graphic quality of the head, bill and fish. Ditto the comments given above. Also, on my screen there seems to be a bit of sharpening halo at the top of the head. Very nice image.

    Bill,
I think the halo is from the jpeg conversion.

Love the sharpness and the right down the barrel stare, and of course the fish and the raised foot. EXP perfect. One of your best.
