Default Peregrine - This way please

    Hi There

Following on from my post of Peregrine Falcon "Lark" (in a stoop but at a massive crop) I am trying to capture some closer shots of him, as he returns to flying in display after his winter lay off. I will no doubt be posting more of my efforts here over the coming weeks, but wanted to start with this one which i was pleased with. This was taken with the 400mm 5.6 as I was letting a friend of mine have a go with the 500mm.... so you don't always need the big guns!!

A terrific pose but there sure is a lot of noise in the BG and some in the bird. I think the ISO 2000 may have "worn out it's welcome" with this one. Careful noise reduction could probably help this one a lot.

Nice posture here. Maybe some canvass added to the left and a bit of smoothing in the BG would be great.

Agree with Lana on the noise; was the image dark to start with? Love the far-wing and the head turn. The near-wing position turns me off...

    Hi Artie

The image was pretty much as you see it i added +.14 of a stop in Lightroom. I liked the head turn but i remember what you have said before about "pancake wings" if they are too much on edge.

Still I shall keep trying.... and i appreciate all the feedback I am getting here it does really help.

Excellent upper wing pose and nice eye contact although I do agree about the extensive noise. Nice shot.
