What a nice find!! I like this alot, and of course the central comp was the way to go here. The bird's right pupil (to our left) could go blacker as it seems to me there is still a hint of blue in it. Midtones could go a bit darker too perhaps? All in all a very delightful image:).

Ehat an adorable find, the curious chick. Love the farming of the tree, making for a good camouflage.

Great find, spotting these well-camouflaged birds is not easy at all. Interesting looking trunk, too. If it were mine, I might remove one catchlight per eye.

Wicked bird and perch. Excellent flash as main technique. Is the shiny/wet spot upper left third sap???

Really love this a lot. Perfect composition with the circular hole in centre and the straight on stare.

Beautiful one, I like the way the birds face is cover the hole and the trees colours add well to the frame..

Thanks D. Bob. It is the only blemish--its brightness draws the eye--on an otherwise spectacular nest hole tree.

I usually don't like centered subjects, but this one makes a lot of sense! love the bark and of course the handsome owl! I am with Daniel about darkening the pupil (s) and removing one catch-light. Is this a large crop? it seems as you lost some fine details on the owl's face, I might be wrong though.
