I used the extrude filter for this and set it to pyramid at 10. Then adjusted my opacity. Masked back in some details. I think it adds some movement to the image.

Very interesting, Denise. I like the pose of both birds. The technique definetly adds movement, I was getting a little dizzy lookinag at it:)

Nice comp, and the birds look very sharp. Filter adds to the dynamic action D., and just filter enough IMO.
The position of the birds in combination with the pyramid direction is very dynamic. Neat!!
Denise, great action which is enhanced by the pyramid extrude:)

Nice image and application, Denise.
I see some shadow areas on the edge of both birds wings that would be nice if evicted, but ... your image ... your vision. ;)
Thanks all for the feedback. I am not completely sold on this look myself. I think the original is much nicer:) but this was a fun filter to experiment with.
Like the action and the concept Denise! There seems to be more of the effect on the lower bird than on the upper. Might want to try one with the birds on a separate layer and isolated, for a different look.
I discovered that it is difficult to avoid having some "bleed" of the effect into the bg, but the solution is to take the bg layer and clone out the empty space left by the vacated birds. In other words, make the bg one solid layer. This is what I had to do with the "space gull" to keep the colors from the gull from bleeding into the effect. Don't really understand it, but that seemed to work. :)
