    Default Spoooooonie portrait!

This is the very same specimen as in my post a couple of days ago. I was fortunate that it came closer and closer towards me as I squatted quietly in plain view of it on Sunday morning. I decided that it may just be good to stack my converters to try for a full portrait or so. You be the judge. Of course, image quality does deteriorate somewhat but IMHO the image is still perfectly useable. :)

30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM, stacked 2x and 1.4x, ISO1600, f/16, 1/500th, +1/3EC, hand held, full frame image. Little NR on BG, slight sat, levels, curves (linear preset) and smart sharpen only.

interesting portrait Akos, this guy has a unique personality and you made a connection. I would try to sharpen the end of that big spoon and the water drop!

    Akos:

I like the diagonals created by the neck and bill leading our eye towards his eye, which is really what makes this one for me. Quite engaging.

Quality pretty darn decent for stacked converters, hand held, f/16!

    Good exposure too.

    Cheers

Hi Bro, I like the slight tilt of the head, as if he's listening to music. The angle shows of the bill perfectly, and of course the droplets work so well. Good job with the stacked converters.

Not bad for handholding and stacked. Love the ol' blue eye and the composition.

Composition, sharpness, BG and droplets make this one for me. I would selectively desaturate the blue channel in the area of the plumage that is not sunlit.
