Hi Ian Very happy to see you posting such a good image ... big improvement over previous. When posting for critiques I like going with my best effort and not just a record shot, those I save for F&F

I like the exposure, sharpness and pose. Reflection is strong enough to keep, good ! Would have gone horizontal ... just would like showing the complete water circle rather than cutting it off .. if its worth including ... include all of it !! ... btw horizon is a little off .. can check form eye to reflection of eye !!

Thanks, Alfred! I'm learning a lot from you folks here and I'm glad it's starting to pay off! Thanks for the tip on using the eye to check alignment -- I never thought of that.

Can not add much to Al's comments. I would favor slight crop from the bottom to bring the bird forward more. Better eye contact would be nice

Hi Ian - showing improvement - way to go!!
Great advice from AL as always - like the use of F10 - still heaps of SS and nothing in the BG to be concerned about.
    Keep em coming :)

Hi Ian, Agree with Al that this is a great improvement over previous posts. A clean image thats not cluttered with distractions. The light is soft and not harsh and contrasty. The image does need some CCW rotation. For my taste I would crop a bit off the top and bottom. It will probably look more like a horizontal which is what Al suggested.

OK. Taking your collections of suggestions, I rotated it a bit CCW and opened it up to include the whole ring. I don't have any room on the LHS so I'm not sure what I think of this. Is this what you folks had in mind? I wish Mr. Stilt was pointing towards the center of the ring. Next time I'll ask him to turn for me.

    Thanks,

    Ian

.. too bad the ring extends so far back and just a bit to the front !!

btw this is a great point, when we comment we assume certain things that might not be possible or even when seen they don't make sense !! .. this is one of them .. including the entire circle was a dud of an idea on my part .. but a good one :)

:) Well, next time I need to shift the camera over. The idea was a great one. The composition as it stands just couldn't do it. Thanks.
