It's a public holiday in South Africa and I spent the better part of the day doing Lightroom admin on a mountain of backlogged images. Not nearly finished yet though.

Here's a quick post from our trip to Northern Kruger last December. Overcast conditions helped here as it was midday.

    Techs:
    Nikon D300s with 200-400mm VR @ 200mm
    f4.0 @ 1/1000 SS @ ISO-640

Well exposed and great detail on the blacks. Maybe a bit more space in front and at the top? Like the perch and posture. Well done.

This is very well exposed and the detail is great.

Good job on the blacks - gotta love overcast conditions!! I love the overlapping wing feathers, very nice. Look-back pose is just about perfect. A bit tight in the frame...if this is a crop I would add back some canvas top, bottom, and left. I would also crop a tiny bit at right, just enough to hide the small line of BG running down the perch along the edge. You could/should (if your ethics allow) eliminate the two OOF branches near the tail. Good stuff :-)

I like the look-back pose and sharpness. Maybe a bit more room on the left and if it were mine, I would remove the two branches at the bottom.
