I like the dangling feet and clouds in the BG and would try to lighten the underwings a bit. The branch does not really add to it as it is not a takeoff pose.
I agree with Axel about he overall image and the branch. If the branch was in the lower right corner, so it gave the impression that he just launched from it, I would keep it. But since that wasn't the case, with this pose, I would consider removing it. Of course, you could move it down, but you would have to be comfortable with such a change.
For me, I actually like the branch there and I totally see this as a take-off pose...with the large and heavy Osprey having dropped down slightly and now about to swoop back up. I can't imagine it popping straight up from the branch, although I'm sure it is probably powerful enough to do so...
I'm just wishing for a better HA, but it does look like it is peering in the direction it is about to turn towards to. I agree with lighting the underwings, and being careful about introducing unwanted noise by doing so.
