    Default It's not always easy

As wildlife photographers, we all like to have that classic shot of a Leopard laying across a tree branch in clear view in golden sunlight.
Most times we just don't get that opportunity, and are left with images we have to make the most of. Here at least, after a lot of frustration, I managed to get her face relatively unobstructed.
Taken in the Kwhai region- Botswana Sept '09.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

Would be really nice if her head and rump were switched (takes the OOF leaf and branch touching the face out of play) but my view goes right to the nicely lit side of her face and eye. I like how the color of the sunlit leaves in the BG match her fur.

    Marc,
This is a good example as to why Leopard shots are sometimes very difficult, at least you saw one and that is what matters.:)

    Hi Marc

They seem to instinctively know where to got to maximize frustration. On this occasion you have done exceedingly well and made the best of it. Love that light, just perfect IMHO. Might just take a small amount off the top?

Very nice Marc, bet you are pleased.

Nice light. It is good that the eyes are in the clear. A narrow aperture would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

My eye is drawn straight to hers, very bright and clear. Don't find the foliage distracting because of her expression and the light. Like the environmental feel here.

Hi Marc, I think the pose, with the good ear position, alert expression, and the tension in that curled-up tail as well as the light, all combine to carry this shot off. Leopards live in trees and brush. I dont think there was anything more you could have done. TFS
