    Default Great Crested Flycatcher

Been following this pair for a while now. Their young have just fledged. This particular day...they were quite active flying from perch to perch. I changed things up on this day and placed a Yucca flower spike near one of their favorite perches. I thought the colors of the buds complimented the Flycatchers colors. The female quickly came to it and tried eating it. Once the male saw that...he came and investigated.

The bg is that vivid...at least to my eyes. As always C&C encouraged and welcomed. Hope you enjoyed.

Nice light and exposure, detail in the plumage. I do like the BG and I like the perch and the slightly open beak. It would be nice to have the beak completely open, but it is very nice as it is.

Wow is right. Killer SH, head angle, pose, open bill, and BKGR. I would tone down the green and yellow SAT just a bit. Killer perch and an incredibly beautiful bird photograph. Mazel tov!

Good planning on your part...you saw the opportunity and potential, and took advantage it. I agree about the saturation (especially the green...even if it was that vivid), and I wouldn't have minded if you had pointed your lens about an inch lower...but all else looks fantastic. I wouldn't worry about DOF not catching the tail...everything that should be in focus is.
