Default Blew it, didn't blow it

:D I didn't think the fox kit was going to walk up this close to me, and I didn't think I'd be crawling around on the ground under my truck to get a low angle shot. :D Between that and late evening light, the portrait is fairly soft. Other shots from the set were sharper, but this one seemed special to me in other ways.

So C&C welcome, and you can say BINNIT if you think I should binnit! I will only cry a little (kidding! ;)).

For my own C&C looking at it now, I do think a little brush work to remove noise in the BG would be helpful, and maybe the eye color could be brightened a bit.

Love to hear what the experts say, but this would be a keeper for me. Lovely low angle shot. Focus point may be around the forehead or ear, and a little more dof might have gotten the nose to be sharper, but it has a very sweet feeling to it. To my eye maybe just a bit of a bluish cast? Keep it.

btw, EXIF data would be useful

Thanks Bill! I'll add EXIF to the first post. I will see if the blue cast can be removed - I see it, too. That might help bring his color back toward red.

Lovely - here my vision of this.

some texture sharpening - eyes lightened a tad and sharpened -not sure about the colour - my screen needs recalibrating.

Didn't blow it. I would go for a painterly effect. Something like this ...

I was going to suggest cropping the legs, but DAvid repost took care of that as well as the very cool temperature. Awesome and thanks David for the great work.

PS. David - that rendition does look more accurate in terms of fur color.

Hi Meesh, Lance's repost is an improvement to the OP and brings out it's strengths. David's is more of an artistic variation which I must say is very appealing.
Shows what can be done with the image with some PS skills...

Hi Meesh Should have had a cuteness alert :)

With a couple of tweaks in PS the image looks mighty fine, original had the slight cast and needed a contrasts boost. Both re posts look excellent and Davids is pure art !!! For more conventional would still do a little blurring around the bottom legs but not as much !!

Nice contemplative look on the young one, Meesh.

I think Fabs hit the most important point, that of color temperature. What was your WB setting?

I would hope to see more reddish-brown in the fur, as that tends to be their natural color, even as kits.

In what part of the country did you see it?
