    Default Dark Cygnet

    Thoughts? I appreciate them all!

Got this on a dark and dreary day, so I had to go for the look I was given.

Hi Keith, Good positioning in the frame and low shooting angle. I like the head on stare and you muted the backround the best you could at 2.8. If it's within your ethics I would take out the dark area in the upper left.
I feel you did the best you could under very low lighting conditions...

Nice soft fuzziness in your photo, Keith. I agree about lightening the upper left corner. It's hard to tell from the shot posted, but maybe some selective sharpening on his face would bring it out a titch?

Hi Keith - like the low shooting angle and the composition works for me.
For my personal tastes - looks a little dark. Had a look at the histogram and it does seem just a tad under - Heres is my vision - not saying yours is wrong - you might have wanted to create a dark mysterious mood.
I set a white point - then lightened the eyes - then sharpened the eyes there was the faintest glimpse of a catchlight there - doing this did enhance and made the eyes more alive.

Your linkd files can be up to 800 pxels wide - do try and post them larger will make a diference.

Will repost - later my screen calibration has gone westward!!!! - Needs a re calibration!!

I think it's lovely. I just wish you posted it a little bigger so it can be appreciated better.
With Lance's permissions I'll say I like the dark mood of the opening post, moody person that I am :)

Big welcome to BPN, hope you can feel right at home here.

;) Not a problem Fabs - just removed my repost - looked at it on another screen and it looked way bright - going to have to recalibrate my laptop screen me thinks.
