I did not even notice the spoonbill in the b/g because I was concentrating on the egret and nest. Serendipity strikes! C/C welcome. Gary

    Thanks, Harshad:

Egrets about to land look like they were just dropped out of a plane with no idea how to fly--a look of sheer panic!

Gary, the look on that bird's face is priceless :D
A great moment captured and I love the OOF spoonie as well. Perhaps tone down the egret in th LRC?
    Best,

Thanks, Nikki. I went back and forth over the whites. It was a very bright day, obviously, and I was pushing the histogram as far to the right as I could w/o blowing out more than a few pixels. I just got a 16 x 20 print of this image and it looks nice to me. I will, however, take you advice and see how toning down the whites looks. Thanks for the suggestion. Gary

You did as well as you could in impossible lighting conditions--harsh and a bad light angle.

Artie and Nicki: Thanks for your input. I have gone back and toned it down. The lighting was harsh, as noted, but this was part of an exercise in shooting birds in flight so we were working mostly on technique and it ran well beyond the early morning light.
