One of the typical 'game birds' found feeding in uplands and moorland. Just love their eyebrows or "combs"

I like the alert pose, sharpness, eye contact and BG. The reds above the eye are a bit overexposed, maybe you could desaturate this area a bit.

Along with the previous I might take a little off the bottom as I find the oof fg a bit distracting. Do love the pose and composition and I think with a few minor changes this will be an even better image than it already is.

Axel are you referring to the depth of colour, just not too sure what you mean? From my recollection they are fairly spot on.

    Thanks
    Steve :)

Steve, I like the colour of the grouse, together with how he is peering over the foliage.

Steve, I like this very much as presented. Reds look fine to me and I love the OOF foreground. Gorgeous colours :)

I like the eye here a lot. The pose and expression of the bird are excellent.
Nice shot of habitat vegetation too.

Excellent image comp. Love the plant on the left and the positioning of the bird. A refreshment to see a different species for a change. Wonderful execution! :)
