Saw this beautiful Male tiger near the meadows of Kanha National Park in Central India. This chap rules the meadows currently, but here looks just like a cuddly soft toy waking up just as the sun is about to go down for the day. Just about time for the tiger to start its day..

    Made this image with a 50D and a 500 f/4.

That is an exceptional photo of a beautiful creature, Rahul ! Love his body language !

The green leaf on the tree trunk at far left got me thinking (a risky proposition, I know :)) ... I found the leaf to be a slight distraction, and I was wondering if the image would be stronger if the photo were to be cropped to eliminate the left tree.

    Overall, a fantastic photograph !

Beautiful image and an interesting pose. I actually find the oof, bright tree on the rhs more distracting than the leaf on the left. Maybe some from both sides. I also think if you took some from both sides it might work better as a panoramic.

Good to see a different POV of this magnificent animal, very relaxed indeed.

Would agree about cropping on the lhs, but not sure about the saturation, even for the end of the day?

Nice image, I do not mind the light, cropping out the tree on RHS would definitely help.
I think a pano crop would work very well

Did think about the pano crop (attaching with this) but it somehow put the animal out of the jungle to me (looked very different from what I had seen when there).
Steve, really, you had to be there to believe it...it was magical. I was with this animal for around 2hrs, from 4:15 to 6:15 on that evening and the play of light was truly breathtaking. I'd still go back to the raw to check, but I do not think I did anything special while post processing this one.

Let me know your views on the crop as well...

IMHO pano looses feel of jungle , OP is far better, just my 2 cents

I am with Harshad on this, the pano crop has lost all the feeling of the image and for me a backward step IMHO.

I like your OP the best - amazing light and pose and the wide comp gives a great sense of place...I don't find anything distracting here as all my attention is on the magnificent beast...

Bill did not suggest a pano crop. He just suggested cropping out the tree on the left and I agree 100%. In the OP the animal is centered.... Killer light for sure. And I know that the image would be stronger with the left hand tree cropped out :)

Nice image. I like the pose. It looks a bit more yellow to me. Lowering the colour temperature during post processing will be good. Cropping a bit from the left, as suggested by Bill, would strengthen the composition. Thanks for sharing.
