Hello everyone. Meesh Fink convinced me to come on over here to help her beat the loneliness :D I'm an Olympus E3 shooter, and really just do it as a hobby, and a time killer.
I am currently in a small town of 150 people, in the Canadian High Arctic. The name of the place is Resolute Bay. I work on ground based and GPS based aircraft communications and navigation equipment, that's what I'm doing here. I am going to be living here for 5 months, 1 week, and 1 day, but who's counting :).
Originally, I am from the east coast of Canada, from a town called Moncton in the province of New Brunswick.
So, after that small blurb about myself, I'll show a few pictures. Myself & my current location.
Looking forward to chatting with you all, and getting some advice. This place seems like a great learning environment!
hey chuck! welcome to BPN!!!! you are in a quite remote spot! you could actually say TOP OF THE WORLD!!! wow, that is up there. glad to have you here and cant wait to see what you post from there.
btw, we go by our full names here at bpn so shoot me your last name and we'll get that changed for you.....thanks!!
Harold, thanks very much! I have PM'd you about the name ;-) I have actually been much higher in latitude only a few weeks ago, I was in a place called "EUREKA, Nunavut". It's a weather station on the 80th Parallel! Unfortunately, while I was there (for work) I was too busy to go venturing out!
Axel, thanks! There pictures were taken 2 weeks ago, there is still a significant amount of snow here but it's melting quickly. With the onset of 24 hour daylight, the snow is melting FAST! The buntings are one of the subjects other than common gulls and crows. This part of the arctic is known for a large population of polar bears, and arctic foxes so I can't wait to see them!
Denise, thanks for the warm welcome! It's cold up here...brrrrrrrrrr
