I assume this is Oyster Catcher.
I noticed that those from China, the legs are the same colors. Here, they are usually really pale pinks.

Like the composition, looks like SS speed must be slow, as the legs look blurry.
Can relate on you saying they didn't hang around long. Plus, they are fast too. :)

    Hi lance,
I like the level at which you took this. Were you laying down? Also, I would have tried to take out the blurry strip on the bottom, Either by cloning or cropping. Just my opinion.

Very nice pose with the raised foot. Nice shooting angle as well. I like the soft light. Not crazy about the oof foreground strip.

Lovely pose and I really like the exposure on the blacks and whites.

Tripod at such a low shooting angle is good to see. Given the mucky beaches where i normally go my option as well.

My preference would be to crop oof bottom, remove black feather and make bg uniform.

I really like the feather details.

look at the eyeball position. looking right at you!!!! that's what makes the difference. you can have the proper HEAD angle and not have the proper eyeball angle and it just screws it all up. you got it all here!!!! nicely done!

Hi Guys - agree the OOF part at the bottom should be cropped out!!
Personally though - I dont usually remove anything from the BG in P.S.
    Thanks for the comments.
