Taken close to sunset in the shade, not close to what I would have preferred. I blurred the background( seems I didn't do too good a job in a few places) , but performed no NR on the subject. The question is should I have? Comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill
Hi Bill, Very nice! Great detail and framed well. I like the droplets coming off the crayfish's legs. On my monitor I don't see a problem with the backround. The HA while not angling towards the viewer IMO is quite acceptable.
Nice one!
No Noise issues here bill - IMHO
Bird looks just a tad oversharpened could just be a result of save for web!!
The whites on the top of the head are running on the hot side.
Like the action and the water drops hanging of the legs of the crawfish!!
Thanks guys! Lance, I think saving for the web (actually jpeg conversion using bicubic sharper) may have made it appear oversharpened as you suggested, but more distressing is it seems to have by creating "hot pixels"!
I carefully check all full sized images for clipping, and with this one there were none, zero! I just checked the image posted here, since you mentioned the whites on the top of the head running on the hot side, and the image is sprinkled with hot pixels, in every channel(RBG)!
What gives, and has anyone else experienced this?
regards~Bill
Hi Bill Good looking image and agree with all points !!! Man your killing them birds with crawfishes :)
.. one point This is one case you could have used (if you had it) auto ISO for using the lowest possible. For example setting the camera at 1/500 wide open aperture (to keep lower) and letting the camera raise it as light dims !!! As presented one fine image !!!! ... btw do not think HA detracts at all, I was so focussed on the catch that it was not even apparent !!!
Hi Bill, When I view a posted image I make a mental note of my comments and then I read the comments of others (especially the mods) to see how I did. This time I had the same comments as Lance. I may not have posted the comment about over sharpening as I am wrong about this most of the time.:)
Excellent image.
Peter
I am not sure what you refer to in bg about the pp'n other than perhaps the bit of brighter area behind top right of bird.
No, I don't think nr on the bird is a good idea, at least for nr I do. I use nr in CS4 and perhaps other nr programs can handle nr better and retain details.
