Taken recently at a one on one workshop with my guest Carmelo, wow, did we have some fun at this place! My first good shooting of this species, so I am pretty happy to finally have something to print.

handheld from F150, no flash, slight crop

    thanks for looking!

Love the colour of the beak and the bird Ray, was considering going out with you today, but thought the weather would be bad. How did you get so close?

Ray, I like this shot, nice BG, sharp and nice eye contact. Maybe clone out the light branch to the left of the bird, is all I could suggest for improvement.

Raymond, Really nice sharp details and pose. I like the BG color and feel it compliments the bird nicely. I might also evict the second branch since it's such a nice shot.:)

Ray this is a great image of this beautiful species. I like the composition but I may be tempted to clone out the OOF branch on the left. I love the red of the bird against the dark green BG.

This species is another life list want for me.

I love the red of the bird against the lush green BG. Good eye contact. I'd be tempted to lose the second branch.

Great suggestions all around. Did you seriously shoot this handheld at 1/40s?

Beautiful! Great color and detail with a nice background. I too, find the oof branch is something that is drawing my eyes away from your hansome bird.

Thanks for the cool comments everyone., I used the calls to draw this bird in, and no cloning at all., but I tend to agree, the branch should go before I print this one.

Very much appreciated, and yes, hand held from my truck, no bean bag., the lens may have been resting on the window, I am not sure... some shots I was freehanding, some resting lens to glass... this bird did not give us much time to get set up with window height, etc.

take care, and have a good week.
