I met fellow photographer Lloyd Spitalnik from Grace Scalzo. He told me about a spot not far from where we were shooting that turned out to be a nice spot. Here is one of the birds from that shoot. The perch is not a set-up and I was a bit too far. I am going back to try to get closer. But for now it's my first Tree Swallow.
I did some work on the tip of the perch-it was a straight cut off. I can easily put it back to norm if you think it looks too fake.

Perch looks fine as does the detail and exposure. I might crop a bit off the right and top to move the subject in the upper right third. Just my take on it. Doesn't make it right. I like it as is , as well. The forward stare into the camera is great.

I like the background and the subdued colors -- a bit too much perh for my taste - but capture and grats on the lifer

Thanks guys, This is a pretty big cop so I'm not sure if I could crop much more-but I do agree a tighter comp. would be nice.:)

Hi Denise, Like the placement of the frame in the image and the head on look from the Swallow.

Hi Denise, if you hadnt mentioned the tip of the perch, I wouldnt have picked up that you "trimmed" it. Congrats on your first, and I like the high placement in the frame. Maybe coming in on both sides might work better.
