Went early to Munmorah SRA NSW which is situated between Catherine Hill Bay and Budgewoi and is largely coastal heathlands. The New Holland Honeyeaters were feeding on Mountain Devil (Lambertia formosa) completely ignoring me with tripod and camo drape coming in too close at 1 metre!! But also typically landing on dead Grass Tree spears before dropping down to feed. However they were getting a hammering from a solitary Little Wattlebird trying to expel all and sundry from its territory. Note pollen grains from feeding activity.

I love the bird and the pose. The BG really is blue, I might desaturate it a bit if it were mine-but that is just a personal preference. Awesome looking eye.

I like the perch and the yellow on the wing really stands out -- nicely done

Beautiful bird with excellent pose and detail. I find the crop a tad tight IMO and agree the sky is a little too blue. Wonderful capture Rod and many thanks for sharing.

This is a mighty fine image, with excellant color, detail, head angle and perch. Pretty close to perfection, to my eyes. I do think just a tad off the bottom would better accentuate your subject.

Thank you all for your kind comments. A very similar species occupies often the same area but obviously their niches in the ecosystem allows for this as hey never seem to interact in contrast to the other honeyeater noted above - the Little Wattlebird -.
    Best regards
